Below: Four photos (taken aboard CGC George Cobb) are examples of the importance of safety zone patrols.
The Blue and Gold Fleet's ferry, Golden Bear, made couple of attempts to cross the safety zone, in front of George Cobb.
Auxiliary Vessel, White Knight and Alameda County Sheriff's boat were able to safely protect the zone.
Eventually, the ferry passed George Cobb 50ft to starboard, throwing large wakes and passed 50 feet to stern.
